About IYP

Why I built this.

A calmer explanation of who this is for, why it exists, and what trustworthy support should feel like.

Hi, I’m Ayo. I built The Immigrants Yellow Pages because settling into a new country can feel like being handed a hundred urgent tasks with no clear order. Even when good information exists, it is usually scattered across official pages, group chats, charity sites, and advice from people who mean well but do not always know your situation.

I wanted one calmer place that helps you work out what to do first, what can wait, and where to find support that is actually worth your time. This platform is for people in those early UK weeks and months when everything feels important at once: housing, paperwork, jobs, healthcare, food, schools, transport, and simply figuring out who to trust.

Quality matters more than quantity here. When we mark something as verified, it means we have tried to point people toward an official service, a trusted organisation, or a resource we still believe deserves a place on the list. When a link or contact detail is still being checked, we say so clearly instead of pretending it has been confirmed.

This is not a government service and it does not replace legal, medical, or immigration advice. It is a guide designed to reduce noise, help people move faster, and make the first stretch of settling in feel more manageable.

Over time, I want this to become the place immigrants trust not because it is the loudest directory, but because it is the most useful one.
